Copenhagen-based PCO Crone & Co, named among country's fastest-growers
Each year, Denmark's leading financial newspaper, Børsen, awards the Gazelle prize to the fastest-growing companies in the country. To win the prize, companies must meet a number of strict criteria. Crone & Co was the only PCO and event bureau to be named a Gazelle company in 2013.

In 2010, Crone & Co had just two employees - today there are ten, turnover has sky-rocketed, as have its client portfolio and budgets, and the staff continues to expand. In October, the bureau, which carries out traditional PCO tasks but also specialises in experience communication and event marketing, was named a Gazelle company, an award given to Danish companies which have grown in a fast but stable manner during the previous year.

Crone & Co was PCO for the Danish EU presidency, and thus responsible for more than 100 meetings during 2012. With the EU presidency, the company set a new standard for how efficiently a PCO could execute this kind of congress/conference and was instrumental in ensuring that the presidency was the first ISO-certified sustainable event in the world. Among other factors this certification was based on effective project leadership tools and IT systems which allowed for a significant minimising of resource consumption at several levels of the project.

The Danish Foreign Ministry has credited Crone & Co for an all time high best practise PCO handling of this type of project. Crone & Co has also been chosen as PCO for ESOF 2014, which will attract 5,000 delegates and involve 60-80 large and small public events which are expected to draw around 50,000 visitors during June next year.

René Crone comments: ”I am truly proud to have reached this point with Crone & Co. It has been a long journey and a challenge to maintain our momentum, particularly considering the financial crisis. I feel that, today, those of us who work at Crone & Co have an extremely strong offer for how to run PCO and event marketing companies in the future, and that the market is ready for a company of our size."

In 2002, René Crone left his position as a marketing director at Microsoft to realise his dream of creating a unique, experience-based offer within the communications, meetings and event industry.

In total, 1,357 companies made the Gazelle list this year - Crone & Co were in the top 50 nationally and the top 20 in Copenhagen.
