The largest international congress of 2013 will be held at the Helsinki Exhibition & Convention Centre in August. International Surgical Week 2013 (ISW) will be the first to put the centres' renewed conference facilities to the test. Close to 3,000 delegates will attend ISW 2013 from around the world.
"The Exhibition & Convention Centre will perform major refurbishments of its facilities during the spring and summer. Top medical professionals attending the ISW 2013 will be the first to test our new lobby and seminar hall," said Susanne Massingberd-Roinila, Congress Manager, Finnish Fair Corporation.
Congress year 2012 broke all records
2012 broke all the records for congresses held in Helsinki. In total, 254 international congresses were held last year, with more than 40,000 delegates participating.
Finland’s largest congress in 2012 was organised at the Helsinki Exhibition & Convention Centre. The international World Library and Information Congress attracted 4,200 visitors from 120 countries.
The Helsinki Exhibition & Convention Centre’s reservation calendar for the near future also looks promising. Confirmed reservations include next year’s ISRRT World Congress organised by the International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists, and ESERA 2015, the bi-annual conference of the European Science Education Research Association.
