Mobile Trends Award Goes to Gdansk

The Mobile Trends Conference was held on 21 - 22 February 2013 at the Park Inn by Radisson in Krakow. The conference brought together the IT industry, mobile developers and new technologies' specialists.

Participants had an opportunity to listen to experts; key speakers shared their opinion on new trends and possible changes in mobile solutions, applications for smartphones and tablets.

The first part of the conference (Business Day) ended with the  Mobile Trends Awards Ceremony, where the top Polish mobile solutions were awarded by a jury consisting of worldwide IT experts and mobile technology professionals. Products were nominated in 16 categories.

GCBeVENT (produced by the Gdansk Convention Bureau/DeSmart), one of Poland's first mobile apps for conferences and congresses took first place in the category of Mobile application - Communication and Community.

Gdansk Tourist Organization (together with KSI) was nominated for gdansk4uMOBILE app in the category City with Best Site or Mobile Application. The city of Szczecin won for the application Visit Szczecin (by MoveApp).

"I am proud that our new app, GCBeVENT, has already gained recognition in the world of mobile technology among Polish experts. It is a great honor for us. Innovation has always been important for Gdansk Convention Bureau. The Award confirms that our strategy is correct. It also shows the growing awareness of the role of the convention bureaux in Poland, " said Anna Gorska, CEO, Gdansk Tourist Organization.
