GEP DMCs Capture Five ADMEI Awards

Global Events Partners (GEP) announced that five of the eleven 2012 achievement awards presented by the Association of Destination Management Executives International, were to partner DMCs of GEP.

The GEP DMCs honoured were Destination King, Memphis, two awards; Destination Nashville, Nashville; and JPdL, Toronto, two awards.

More than seventy entries were received for events presented between September 1, 2010 – August 31, 2011.

Judges included members from Meeting Professionals International (MPI), Professional Conference Managers Association (PCMA), and International Special Events Society (ISES).

Each judge reviewed applications from other venues and rated them based on originality, innovation and solutions provided to challenges presented.

The five awards were:

  • Best Innovative Event under $50,000 - Siemens Distribution Center Grand Opening Celebration, Destination King, Memphis, TN
  • Best Innovative Event $100,001 - $200,000 - Paint the Sound Country, Destination Nashville, Nashville, TN
  • Best Destination Marketing - TIFF Behind the Scenes Fam, JPdL Toronto, Toronto, ON, Canada
  • Destination Management Professional of the Year - Kevin Brewer, DMCP, Destination King, Memphis, TN
  • Joanne O’Connor President’s Award - Grant Snider, DMCP, JPdL Toronto, Toronto, ON, Canada

“It’s always nice when an outside source confirms our belief that GEP partner DMCs are among the best in the world. We congratulate Destination King, Destination Nashville, JPdL Toronto, and especially Kevin Brewer and Grant Snider on their much deserved awards,” said Chris White, Chairman and CEO of GEP.
