New Head of Scandic in Finland

Scandic has recruited Aki Käyhkö as Country Vice President and head of operations in Finland. Käyhkö has a strong commercial background and is currently CEO for Palace Kämp Group, a Finnish hotel and restaurant group. He will also be part of the Scandic Group Management Team and starts March 5, 2012.

"Aki Käyhkö´s strong leadership skills and experience from efficient teambuilding makes him the ideal person to further strengthen Scandic´s already well established brand and market position in Finland. I welcome Aki to lead the important challenges ahead with two major hotel openings, in Tampere and Helsinki, this year," said Anders Ehrling, President and CEO of Scandic.

"I am very pleased with the results the Finnish part of our hotel chain has delivered so far, lead by former head of Finnish operations Aarne Hallama, who due to health reasons unfortunately is unable to continue in his current role."

"I am delighted to be a part of the highly competent and professional Scandic team in Finland, they have a reputation for delivering good business results and Scandic is well known as the leading hotel chain in the Nordics," said Käyhkö.
