Everything Under One Roof at European Championships 2013

The operational work for the Indoor Championships in Athletics to be held in Gothenburg in March 2013 has began. The team at Göteborg & Co is working with the concept "everything under one roof" and this week saw clients European Athletics visit for inspection and quality assurance.

"Our job is to make the European Athletics safe, inspire confidence and demonstrate the knowledge we possess," said Anders Albertsson, General Secretary of the event at Göteborg & Co, which was satisfied by the three-day visit.

Contestants will live in Riverton, competitions are held in the Park and prize ceremonies inside the Swedish Exhibition Centre. No transportation will be necessary for the contestants. The fair will also be an arena of activity for the whole family to be built up as a fan zone, exhibition center, cafes and restaurants.

"We want to do something beyond expectations. This concept is unique and has not previously been seen in the athletics arena," said Albertsson.

"What we are doing now is also an important part of the way forward for events Göteborg," he continued.

Future athletics competitions in the sight of Gothenburg include Euro 2018 and World Cup 2021 where the application possibilities are now being investigated.
