First Radisson Individuals signed in Scotland

Radisson Hotel signs of River Ness Hotel, a member of Radisson Individuals, in the heart of Inverness, one of Scotland’s seven cities and regarded by many as the capital of the famed Scottish Highlands. Set to open in Q3 2021, this modern, Scottish inspired hotel will be the first Radisson Individuals hotel to arrive in Scotland.

Adela Cristea, Vice President, Head of Business Development UK & Ireland, Radisson Hotel Group, said: “We are thrilled to announce our first Radisson Individuals signing in Scotland, which will further strengthen our position as the leading international hotel group in the region. With this signing, we are expanding our UK & Ireland portfolio to 66 hotels and more than 15,000 rooms open and under development. We are very pleased to continue our fruitful collaboration with Axcel Group and we thank them for their support.”

Radisson Individuals is a conversion brand that offers independent hotels and local, regional chains the opportunity to be part of the global Radisson Hotel Group platform, benefit from the Group’s international awareness and experience, with the freedom to maintain their own uniqueness and identity. This announcement comes off the back of Radisson Hotel’s Group’s recent announcement which highlights the strong expansion of Radisson Individuals with six new signings in key strategic markets including Austria, Bulgaria, Serbia and Africa.

The modern 76-room hotel will offer a bistro, bar, and gym. The full-service hotel will offer guest rooms with authentic Scottish design, with dark wooden floors and walls and modern, welcoming marble bathrooms.

Sunil Patel, Director of Axcel Group Limited, said: “It is with great pleasure we announce yet another exciting project in collaboration with Radisson Hotel Group. As the first Radisson Individuals in Scotland, we are able to offer locals and travelers a stunning property and a new brand experience. We are excited to be part of Radisson Hotel Group’s global network and continue our strong existing partnership”.

Situated in the north of Scotland, on the banks of the River Ness, Inverness is the perfect city for travelers to explore and be immersed into the culture of the Scottish Highlands. Several main tourist attractions such as Inverness Cathedral, the first new Protestant cathedral to be completed in Great Britain since the Reformation, Inverness Castle, with its medieval architecture and prominent cliff position overlooking the River Ness, as well as the Old High Church and Inverness Museum which celebrates the Highland way of living and heritage through a display of different historical artefacts, are located within walking distance from the hotel.

The famous Loch Ness Lake, with its star resident Nessie, is located less than 20km away in addition to Culloden battlefield where the final battle between the Jacobite and the British government took place in 1745. Visitors interested in learning more about Scotland’s most famous export product can do so by visiting one of the nearby whiskey distilleries. With the starting point of North Coast 500, the Scottish Route 66, situated in Inverness, the city is the perfect starting point for tourists wanting to explore North Scotland.

The hotel is located within 200 meters from Inverness’ Main Train Station and 13 km away from Inverness Airport with London, Bristol, Manchester, Birmingham, Dublin and Amsterdam as main destinations.

More than ever, Radisson Hotel Group’s highest priority remain the health and safety of its guests and employees. Last year, the Group partnered with SGS, the world’s leading inspection and certification company, to implement the Radisson Hotels Safety Protocol, which ensures the highest hygiene standards at all their hotels. These guidelines include hand sanitizing stations at all entrances, the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and protective screens, enhanced cleaning frequency, and comprehensive staff training. All these measurements will be implemented to the River Ness Hotel, a member of Radisson Individuals before its opening.
