Europe’s largest maintenance event chooses for the Rotterdam Ahoy Convention Centre

The most important trade fair for industrial maintenance of the Benelux and Europe’s largest maintenance conference will be held together. This is an initiative of the Dutch Association of Effective Maintenance (NVDO). The completely renewed Rotterdam Ahoy Convention Centre will host the largest maintenance event ever organised in Europe. Maintenance NEXT and Euromaintenance will together welcome thousands of maintenance professionals from all over the world who will visit the trade fair, substantive lectures, workshops, demonstrations, and company visits in areas such as the Botlek.

In March 2021, Maintenance NEXT and Euromaintenance will both be housed together in the brand-new Rotterdam Ahoy Convention Centre (RACC) which will open its doors at the end of 2020. This new building, part of the prestigious Hart van Zuid area development project, will hold 35 halls and an auditorium with no less than 2,750 seats. Gert-Jan van den Nieuwenhoff, Manager B2B Events at Rotterdam Ahoy, welcomed the announcement: "2021 is a special year for Ahoy; that year is our 50th anniversary and we will also open our brand new conference centre. That we can also accommodate such a large event at the start of that year, combined with our own trade fair Maintenance NEXT, is great news. Perfect synergy!"

For the first time in their long history, Maintenance NEXT and Euromaintenance have aligned to jointly organize the largest maintenance event in Europe in March 2021. The opening of the state-of-the-art Rotterdam Ahoy Convention Centre represents the ideal occasion to join forces. Both the new congress centre, as well as the six Exhibition & Event Halls and the Ahoy Arena will be used for the event. There is nowhere in Europe where an exhibition space can be combined with so many conference and meeting facilities. Ellen den Broeder, Association Manager of the NVDO, is already looking forward to 2021. "Rotterdam will then be the centre of the maintenance world for three days. Furthermore, the renewed Rotterdam Ahoy Convention Centre offers a wonderful stage for our international speakers.”

Maintenance NEXT is the most important platform for industrial maintenance in the Benelux. It has functioned as an important networking platform within the branch for decades and every other year it organizes the most important technology and maintenance exhibition of the Low Countries. Euromaintenance, the largest European conference on industrial maintenance, has existed since 1972 and is an initiative of the EFMNS, the European Federation of National Maintenance Societies. The NVDO represents the Netherlands in the EFMNS board.

The expansion of the RACC is part of the large-scale development of the Hart van Zuid area which will give a qualitative impulse to the Zuidplein area. A pleasant and healthy living environment is being created with space for leisure, work, living, shopping and meeting each other. An entertainment area and living environment with the allure of Rotterdam is connected with its surroundings; an urban hotspot with a worldly vibe and a pleasant living environment where there is always something going on 24/7. Everything with the aim of creating a new vibrant city centre for Rotterdam South.
