Congrex Sweden Gaining Market Share

The booking of Meetings and Events via Congrex Sweden have increased steadily in the first half of the year, which helped Congrex Sweden gain market share. From January to July, the bookings for meetings and events space increased by 35 percent in the Stockholm area, and 20 percent in total in Sweden overall.

With a record increase in meetings and events bookings, Congrex Sweden has had a good first half of the year. The increased rental revenue for meeting space depends not only on the current economic boost in that region, but also is a result of increased customer focus. “We are pleased with such good results, despite the general turmoil in financial markets,” said Lena Fletcher, Managing Director of Congrex Sweden. “Over the past year we have worked hard under the banner of "customer focus" and that has been the simple mantra to guide our work.”

Congrex has increased local representation and focused on implementing existing agreements. According to Fletcher, “the trend in the industry is towards ever-shorter lead times as well as more meetings and events with overnight stays. Customers also want more focus on the creative meetings that produce results. It therefore becomes increasingly important to provide customers with expert knowledge with procurement, to ensure the best possible meeting or event.”

To further meet customer needs and preferences, Congrex Sweden refurbished its bookings portal on the web, www.konferens.se. This improvement has also contributed to the increased revenues. The number of cancellations during the first six months fell by 20 percent. Positive results are also expected for 2012 in meetings and events space bookings, and Congrex Sweden is now 20 percent above last year's results at the same period.
